Speaking your truth…

What’s the toughest challenge you’ve ever faced? Would you have guessed I was disowned at age 21 by my family, let’s pause as I take responsibility for the part I played in this chapter of my life, I walked out on my faith foundations and paid greatly for it and through that period of time I missed out on so much, my heart hurt as I tried to inset myself into situations that I was misunderstood, talked about and unwelcomed and clearly unforgiven for my mistakes. I became more and more rebellious in my own ways. I spent those year focused on work, school and trying to earn some sort of acceptance, maybe even a place back into my family dynamics, but also the world. That hasn’t always been easy to share, but it’s part of my story and part of the truth I have to keep pushing past those thoughts, some still remind me often) but I remind myself I am enough through Christ, I am forgiven by Him and that’s all the matters. I am brave but also afraid at times, I’m still trying to peel away layers of self doubt and let my truth shine because I have the tug on my heart to share more, to help support more women live our their truth, to shine a light so freaking bright in this world that we don’t have to live in failure, hopelessness or to gain others acceptance. The TRUTH is just like I am learning and affirming daily I am made for so much more and my truth can not be taken from me, my story is my story and the chapters that have been written are chapters that bring me here today and the chapters yet to be written will be my greatest testimony in my faith journey.

When sharing your story, others will have different translations from their perspective, from their ideals and memories, but I want to tell you, when you get real with who you are and your story, the truth will be evident and you can’t hide from that truth, own it, share it, learn from it and continue to grow into the beautiful soul you are meant to be.

Speaking your truth is a brave and vulnerable act, but it’s how we build real connections. Plus, you never know when a page from your story will turn into a key chapter in someone else’s survival guide! Tell me some of your story, friend. (I would love to hear from here you, so support you as you move from one chapter to the next)

with love,

Joy
