I just need a SNACC
We must ask ourselves, is there anything that we take part in every day that we would really miss if we did not have it in our lives?
If so, this activity is a habit or even an addiction.
Of course there are positive habits like exercising, eating nutrient dense foods, and getting proper sleep, I know most people can definitely get on board with the idea of feeling good, having great relationships and having consistent energy and better mental clarity.
However, there are many other habits that negatively impact life and health and can lead to a variety of problems; physically, mentality and emotionality, and often times more than the new person suffers from these negative habits.
The common causers that trigger these wellness concerns are our daily SNACCs sugar, nicotine, alcohol, caffeine & chemicals.
Most adults, young adults and even our children have problems with one or more of these substances and may even be aware of their habits/addictions and have said they would like to change them, but they do not, cannot, or will not for various reasons. (Another blog all in itself, why we sabotage our ourselves) for now I’ll throw in a reminder: change is an inside job and beautiful things can flourish once we own the actions that are needed to start the change reaction.
Each month I coach my clients through a 4 week wellness camp where one of our goals is to open the conversation to these habits/addiction and uncover what hold they have on our lives and ultimately our health. Asking the hard questions, such as, are the habits we are shifting and disrupting worth the effort, are we holding on or need to get more uncomfortable as we start to feel and see the many benefits that are on the other side of this process.
These 4 weeks aren’t a quick fix or cure, but will build on the foundation for new improved health & habits and having the hard conversations.
This is a journey to learn, trust & believe in this process one day, one week, one month at a time! Do you believe you’re worth it!
A new wellness camp kicks off next month “May I Challenge You?” and I’d love to walk the road with you and be your guide on a simplified wellness journey.
